UAE says four killed, 112 injured in Iranian attacks since Feb. 28

ABU DHABI — United Arab Emirates said Sunday that four people were killed and 112 others injured in Iranian missile and drone attacks targeting the country since Feb. 28.In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Defense said 17 ballistic missiles and 117 drones were detected from Iran on Sunday alone.Air defenses intercepted and destroyed 16 of the missiles and 113 drones, while one missile fell into the sea and four drones struck UAE territory.The ministry added that a total of 238 ballistic missiles have been fired from Iran since Feb. 28. Of those, 221 were intercepted, 15 fell into the sea and two landed inside the UAE.It also said eight cruise missiles were detected and destroyed during the same period.According to the statement, Iran launched 1,422 drones toward the UAE, with 1,342 intercepted by air defenses and 80 falling within the country.“The UAE remains fully prepared to confront any threats and respond firmly to attempts to undermine the country’s security,” the ministry said.The UAE and other Gulf states have been targeted by Iranian missile and drone attacks since Feb. 28 following joint strikes by the United States and Israel on Iran.
