Saudi air defenses intercept 33 drones over Eastern Province

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense said Wednesday that air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 33 drones over the Eastern Province since early morning.The first interceptions began overnight, with two drones shot down, followed by additional interceptions in successive waves over the same region.According to the ministry, multiple drones were detected and neutralized at intervals throughout the day, with intensified activity during the morning hours as several drones were intercepted in rapid succession.Operations continued into the afternoon, when the final three drones were detected and destroyed, bringing the total number of intercepted drones to 33.
