Saudi air defenses intercept 27 drones since early Eid morning

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense said Friday that air defenses intercepted and destroyed 27 drones across the Eastern Province and Al-Jouf regions during the Eid Al-Fitr holiday.The first interceptions began overnight, when a drone was destroyed over the Eastern Province, followed by two more an hour later.Two additional drones were intercepted in the same region a couple of hours later, followed by another drone within the next hour.An hour later, the Defense Ministry reported that a drone en route to the Al-Jouf region had been intercepted.Within the same hour, five drones were intercepted over the Eastern Province, immediately followed by an additional five in the same region.Later in the morning, four drones were intercepted over the Eastern Province, followed shortly by another two.By midday, four drones were intercepted over the Eastern Province.
