RIYADH — On behalf of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, Emir of Riyadh Prince Faisal bin Bandar honored benefactors of the National Charitable Work through the Ehsan Platform in Riyadh on Friday. Dr. Majid Al-Qasabi, minister of commerce and chairman of the Supervisory Committee of the National Platform for Charitable Work Ehsan, Dr. Abdullah Alghamdi, president of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), and a number of ministers and officials attended the fourth annual honoring ceremony along with a gathering of prominent benefactors and philanthropists from various regions of the Kingdom. This recognition from the Crown Prince was in appreciation of the contributions of benefactors and their support for charitable projects throughout the Kingdom. Speaking on the occasion, Prince Faisal bin Bandar expressed his gratitude to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and the Crown Prince for their continued support for charitable and humanitarian work and their appreciation of benefactors. He praised the generous support the platform receives from the leadership, affirming that it reflects the Kingdom's commitment to strengthening the charitable work system and providing a model to be emulated in the fields of giving. The emir thanked the benefactors who generously contributed to supporting those in need. The Emir launched the "Buds of Charity" initiative, which aims to empower children to explore and choose areas of giving themselves in a simple and tangible way, under the supervision of their families. This initiative reinforces the value of charity in their hearts from a young age and contributes to raising a generation that grows up with a culture of giving and social responsibility. In his speech, Al-Qasabi expressed his gratitude to the wise leadership for their continuous support and empowerment of charitable work. “Today, we stand in gratitude to those who have generously contributed; you are the foundation of this journey. Your giving is not merely a matter of numbers, but a transformation of lives, a revival of hope, and a relief for families in distress. Through the Ehsan platform, you have helped bring happiness to more than 1,065,000 beneficiaries in 2025,” he said, noting that 80 percent of the platform's donations came from members of the community, in small amounts ranging from SR1 to SR50, yet they made a significant impact. The Emir presented this year’s Ehsan Award to leading charitable organizations. He also honored donors from establishments and companies through the Ehsan platform for their efforts in supporting charitable work across various sectors in the Kingdom. Since its launch in 2021, the Ehsan platform has supported charitable initiatives across the Kingdom. Individual and institutional benefactors have contributed more than SR14 billion through over 330 million donation transactions. The figures reflect public confidence in the platform and its role in strengthening governance, transparency, and reliability in charitable work.
