DOHA — Qatar announced Sunday a partial resumption of in-person work at government institutions, allowing 30% of employees to return to their offices starting Monday.According to Qatar News Agency, the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers said remote work will continue for up to 70% of employees at each government entity. The directive gives priority to mothers and people with disabilities for remote work arrangements, provided that operational requirements are maintained. The secretariat instructed that 30% of staff report to their workplaces beginning Monday “until further notice.”On Feb. 28, authorities ordered all employees in ministries, government bodies and public institutions to work remotely due to regional security developments.Qatar has been among several Arab countries targeted by Iranian missile and drone attacks since Feb. 28 following the launch of joint military strikes by the United States and Israel on Iran. The attacks have continued despite remarks by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Saturday saying Iran would refrain from targeting neighboring countries unless attacks against Iran were launched from their territory.Tehran has said it is targeting US military bases in the region rather than neighboring states, but strikes have caused damage to civilian facilities, including airports, ports and buildings.
