Qatar partially resumes air navigation for evacuation, cargo flights

DOHA — Qatar Civil Aviation Authority announced the partial resumption of air navigation in the country through designated contingency routes operating with limited capacity.The authority said the step was implemented in full coordination with the Qatari Armed Forces and relevant national authorities to ensure the continued provision of essential aviation services.The current phase allows a limited number of flights, primarily for passenger evacuation, in addition to cargo operations amid the ongoing regional developments.QCAA said it remains at the highest level of operational readiness and is working closely with relevant authorities to ensure the safety and security of passengers and aviation personnel, while maintaining the safe and efficient flow of air navigation in line with international standards.The authority added that it is continuously monitoring developments and will provide updates to the public and aviation sector partners as necessary.Passengers with confirmed airline bookings were advised to follow the latest updates regarding their flights.QCAA clarified that the current operations do not include scheduled commercial flights to and from Doha, which will resume only after an official announcement confirming the safe reopening of the country’s airspace.
