NCM warns of thunderstorms and hail across multiple regions

RIYADH — The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) on Monday released a weather map highlighting temperature variations across the Kingdom and warning of thunderstorms accompanied by hail, active winds and rainfall in multiple regions.According to the forecast, temperature contrasts continue across Saudi Arabia, with moderate to near-freezing conditions in the northern regions, while warmer weather prevails in the southern and western parts of the Kingdom.Thunderstorms accompanied by hail are expected over Najran, Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, the Eastern Province and Tabuk, along with active surface winds. Similar conditions are also forecast for Al-Jouf, Hail and Qassim.In Riyadh, temperatures are expected to range between 13°C and 24°C, while Makkah and Jeddah are forecast to see warmer conditions reaching up to 28°C.The Eastern Province, including Dammam, is expected to record highs of 23°C, with relatively mild overnight lows.Northern regions such as Arar and Sakaka will experience cooler weather, with temperatures dipping to as low as 6°C in Arar and 7°C in Sakaka.Hail and Tabuk are also expected to see mild daytime conditions accompanied by cooler nights.In the south, Najran is forecast to be among the warmest areas, with temperatures climbing to 32°C, while Jazan is expected to reach 31°C.Meanwhile, Abha and Al-Baha will experience comparatively cooler and milder climates due to their elevated terrain.Fog formation is also anticipated over the western and southwestern highlands of the Kingdom.The NCM urged residents to stay updated with official forecasts and advisories, particularly in regions where unstable weather conditions may develop.
