Ministry of Municipalities conducts over 20,000 inspection tours during first 10 days of Ramadan

RIYADH — The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing announced that more than 20,000 field inspection tours were carried out during the first ten days of the holy month of Ramadan across Makkah, Madinah, Jeddah, and Taif. The inspections were conducted as part of seasonal operational plans to enhance compliance with municipal and health regulations and improve service quality for visitors and pilgrims to the Two Holy Mosques.The ministry stated that the inspection campaigns covered food, commercial, and healthcare establishments, including restaurants, cafes, retail markets, pharmacies, and medical facilities. Field teams focused on ensuring compliance with public health and safety standards, proper food handling and storage, and the validity of official licenses, thereby safeguarding consumer health and enhancing service reliability in high-density areas.It added that inspections were implemented using a smart monitoring methodology based on advanced electronic systems that enable real-time detection and handling of violations. Reports are linked to clear escalation mechanisms to ensure rapid response and efficient resolution, thereby improving field performance and increasing compliance among establishments.The ministry affirmed that inspection campaigns will continue throughout Ramadan, with intensified efforts in central areas and high-traffic locations to maintain a safe and healthy environment and enhance worshipers' experience, in line with the objectives of the Quality of Life Program.
