Kuwait PM inspects power station, reviews electricity supply readiness

KUWAIT — Kuwait’s Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah conducted an inspection visit on Monday to the Subiya Power and Water Distillation Plant.During the visit, the prime minister received a briefing from officials on the operation of power generation units and the measures in place to ensure continuous electricity production to meet the country’s needs and maintain service stability.He also reviewed the fuel storage area, which sustained limited damage following what officials described as a direct attack.Officials said maintenance work has begun and spare parts are being secured in preparation for resuming operations.The prime minister toured the facility’s emergency shelter, where he was briefed on operational procedures during crises, available safety systems, and logistical readiness under exceptional conditions.Sheikh Ahmad expressed appreciation for the national workforce across power generation and water distillation facilities, praising their dedication and emphasizing the importance of sustaining essential services.
