TEHRAN — Iran has executed a man accused of spying for Israel, according to a statement from judicial authorities published by the semi-official Fars News Agency on Wednesday. The statement said the death sentence against Kurosh Keyvani, who was alleged to have links to Israel’s foreign intelligence service Mossad, had been carried out following approval by the Supreme Court.Keyvani had been convicted of transmitting images and sensitive information about strategic locations to Mossad, according to the judiciary. He was arrested on the fourth day of a 12-day conflict that broke out in June last year after US and Israeli attacks on Iran. The execution comes amid a broader crackdown, with Iranian authorities reporting dozens of arrests of individuals accused of ties to Israel in recent weeks.Officials have said strict measures will continue against activities deemed to threaten national security. The development comes as Israel and the United States continue a joint offensive against Iran that began on Feb. 28, which has reportedly killed around 1,300 people, including senior Iranian leadership figures.Iran has responded with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq and Gulf countries, causing casualties, infrastructure damage and disruption to global markets and aviation.
