GCC chief calls Gulf FMs in bid to strengthen unity in responding to Iranian attacks

RIYADH — Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary General Jasem Albudaiwi held phone calls on Sunday with the foreign ministers of GCC states. During the calls, they exchanged views on current regional developments. Discussions focused on strengthening the unity of the Gulf position in response to the Iranian attacks. The secretary general briefed the ministers on his communications with officials from friendly countries. “During those contacts, the officials expressed support for the GCC states’ position and affirmed solidarity in confronting the attacks,” he pointed out. Albudaiwi said the consultations reflect the GCC’s continuous follow-up of regional developments. They also demonstrated GCC’s commitment to strengthening joint Gulf action and unifying positions to address challenges affecting the security and stability of member states, while safeguarding their sovereignty and territorial integrity.
