At least 15 killed in Israeli airstrikes on Beirut and southern Lebanon

BEIRUT — At least 15 people were killed overnight in Israeli airstrikes targeting Beirut and several areas in southern Lebanon, the Lebanese Health Ministry and local media reported Sunday.The ministry said an Israeli strike killed five people in an initial toll in the town of Tefahta, adding that debris removal and search operations for possible survivors are still underway.Three more people were killed and four others injured in an airstrike on the town of Jbal El-Botm, the ministry said.In Beirut, four people were killed and 10 others injured after an Israeli warplane struck a hotel room in the Raouche area.Israeli warplanes also hit a house in Aaitat, killing three people and injuring several others, according to the state-run National News Agency.The strikes came hours after at least 55 people, including children, were killed in a series of Israeli air raids across eastern and southern Lebanon on Saturday.
