378 Million calls recorded in Makkah as internet speeds reach 234 Mbps during Ramadan

MAKKAH — The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) announced major successes of its operational plan during Ramadan 2026, with a mobile itnernet speed of 234 Mbps in Makkah and 318 Mbps in Madinah.CST revealed the performance indicators of communication networks in Makkah and Medina during the period from Ramadan 1-27, where the mobile internet speed in Makkah increased by 19% from last year’s speed for the same period, and the speed in Madinah increased 17% from last year.The average daily per capita data consumption stood at 1297 Mb in Makkah, and1828 Mb for Madinah, with both cities exceeding three times the global average.The indicators also showed that the number of local calls in Makkah exceeded 378 million calls, while international calls were over 44 million calls. Meanwhile, local calls in Madinah surpassed 238 million calls, and 22 million international calls.
